Irene G. (Dworek) Orenak

Irene G. Orenak, 105, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Glassport, died June 12, 2023.  She is the daughter of the late Frank and Martha Dworek and beloved wife of the late Joseph "Huck" Orenak.  She is survived by her daughters Alexandria (Philip) Poon and Barbara (John) Stanoszek; son Gregory Orenak; grandchildren Lauren (Steve Haller) Stanoszek, Mark (Heather) Stanoszek, David Poon and Stephen (Abby) Poon; sisters Frances Matias and Martha Opfer; brother Theodore Dworek; also nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Vesley, Anthony Dworek, Frank Dworek, Pearl White, Jean Hvozdik, Paul Dworek and Raymond Dworek. Irene was a member of the St. John the Baptist Ukranian Catholic Church and the Altar Society.  Irene had many jobs during her lifetime, including Glass House; cleaning homes and waitressing at Lotto's Restaurant.  She made delicious pierogis; was a member of the Bluebird Duck Pin Bowling League; loved playing bingo, cards and stitching beautiful embroidery on pillowcases, dresser scarfs and tableclothes.  She also continued doing her word search puzzles until about a year ago.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Tues., June 20, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, a Panachida service to be held at 6:00 pm.   A funeral service will be held Wed. at St. John the Baptist Ukranian Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Rev. Greg Madaya.  Interment following St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
