Florence (Worek) Michaels

Florence Worek Michaels also known as "Flo, Matka, Mom and Nini", our Lord called her home Oct. 1, 2019 at 93 years of age she was born March 31, 1926 and lived in Glassport all her life.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband George, they were blessed with 61 years of marriage.  She is survived by her son Kenneth (Alice) Michaels of New Bern, NC; daughters Geralyn (David) Sefchok of Cheshire, CT and Bonnie (James) Leasure of Harrison City; granddaughters Sarah Sefchok, Caitlin and Julia Leasure; granddogs Rusty and Maxie; sister-in-laws Aleen Michaels, Mary Ann Worek and Mary Bifano and was preceded in death by her son George Michaels; brothers Joseph and Stanley Worek and sister Wanda Ropar.  She was a loving wife and mother who truly put her family first.  We will miss her compassionate, caring and loving presence.  She was a member of Queen of the Rosary; avid bowler with Catholic women's League and belonged to the Christian Mothers.  She faithfully prayed the rosary daily.  She worked for Charles Catering in Squirrel Hill for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, cleaning and cooking.  Her specialties were stuffed cabbage and nut rolls, much to her family's enjoyment.  She was the chocoholic of the family, ice cream being her favorite.  She was a passionate football fan, cheering for Penn State, Pitt and the Steelers.  Her family would like to extend their gratitude to Southmayd Home in CT and St. Ann's Home in Greensburg for their loving care.  In lieu of flowers, please pray the rosary.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Sat. from 9:00 am till 11:00 am, at which time a funeral mass will be held at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Father Miroslaus Wojcicki.  Interment following Holy Trinity Cemetery.
